OPEN CLASS WITH SAMUEL DOMINIC

Join Samuel Dominic, the newly appointed Artistic Director of Platforms Youth Company, for a focused contemporary open class designed for intermediate to advanced dancers ready to elevate both their technique and artistry.
Samuel’s work blends lyrical and contemporary movement, with an emphasis on clean lines, dynamic shapes, musicality and emotional connection. Expect thoughtful choreography and a class environment that encourages dancers to move with clarity, control and purpose.
This class offers a unique opportunity to experience Samuel’s approach to movement and direction, while stepping into the standard and energy of the Platforms Youth Company.

Join us in the studio for a special open contemporary class with Sydney-based artist Lilly Jay, a beautiful opportunity for dancers to step into the room, be challenged, and feel supported at the same time.
Lilly brings a thoughtful, expressive approach to movement, with a strong focus on musicality, fluidity and connection. It’s the kind of class where you can take your time to really feel what you’re doing, while still being pushed to move with clarity, strength and intention.
If you’re looking for a space where you can grow your confidence, explore your artistry and be inspired by a new voice in the room, this is a really lovely class to be part of.
It’s also a great chance to train with an incredible Sydney-based artist right here in Melbourne.

Our Term 2 Open Class Series gives you direct access to the same environment, standard, and energy as our full-time and company dancers. You’re not just taking a class, you’re stepping into a professional room, working alongside the Scimm. Dance Pre-Professional cohort and Scimm. Dance Company while being pushed to a higher level.

Company Class — Tuesdays (10:00–11:30AM)
Led by Artistic Directors Scott Pokorny and Tim Barnes, this is your chance to experience how Scimm. dancers actually train.
Expect a strong technical foundation, layered with musicality, detail, and the signature Scimm. contemporary style. This is focused, high-level training designed to build consistency, control, and performance quality.
Open Contemporary — Fridays (9:30–11:00AM)
Train directly alongside our full-time Pre-Professional dancers in a real company-style class.
This is where you sharpen your edge. You’ll be challenged to pick up faster, move with intention, and match the standard in the room. If you want to bridge the gap between where you are and where you need to be, this is it.

PRE-PROFESSIONAL
Scimm. Dance Pre-Professional is a comprehensive full-time training course tailored to an elite pre-professional level in contemporary dance.
THE EXPERIENCE
A transformative six-week performance-based program that offers aspiring young dancers an extraordinary opportunity to work closely with Scimm. Dance Artistic Directors, Scott Pokorny and Tim Barnes.
ASCENSION TRAINING PROGRAM
Our Ascension training offers weekly extension programs for committed young dancers aged 8 to 19 years who want to build their technique, creativity and knowledge of contemporary dance.
