Scimm. Dance Company is Melbourne’s next-generation contemporary dance company. Our dancers are young professionals creating bold, sculptural work that blends refined classical technique with raw commercial energy.
Known for our signature style, a fusion of classical precision, grounded contemporary, and high physicality, we create work that moves boldly and lingers long after the lights fade.
We are artist led, professionally driven, and dedicated to reshaping the future of contemporary dance in Australia.

Established in 2018, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our professional dancers by providing access to professional training, choreographic development and weekly classes alongside paid performance opportunities.
In addition to producing an annual major performance season, we provide additional smaller performance opportunities for our dancers throughout the year. The company has previously presented several successful inaugural performance seasons such as Senseless State (2018), Aetherium (2019), Paracosm (2022, 2024), 10 Years: An Anniversary Event (2023) Mechorstra (Winner of the 2023 Melbourne Fringe Peoples Choice Award) (2023, 2024) , Pink (Midsumma Festival, 2024), Q (Midsumma Festival, 2026) and Reflector (Midsumma Festival, 2026).

We're looking for passionate, versatile dancers to join our professional contemporary dance company.
At Scimm., we value strong technique, individuality and a willingness to explore. We're interested in dancers who bring their own ideas into the studio, enjoy working collaboratively and aren't afraid to challenge themselves creatively.
Our auditions are open to professional-level dancers aged 18+ who are ready to be part of an ambitious, artist-led company.
AUDITION DETAILS
Date: Thursday 12 November 2026
Registration: 9:30 am | Audition: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Location: Academy of Dance (80 Waverley Road, Malvern East)
The audition will include ballet, contemporary technique, improvisation and choreography callbacks.
